Assault (sport)

In sport, assault is a strongly illegal behavior against the body of an opponent without the prospect of gaining possession of the playground equipment. Assault can be hitting an opponent or kicking him, often assault is carried out as revenge, also in affect. In team sports , the referee usually punishes offenses with a red card .

Offenses against the referee himself, his assistants or spectators are also listed as assault. After the game in which the expulsion was pronounced, the player is brought before a sports court , which determines the amount of any further penalty. This can be a temporary exclusion from the competition of the player concerned and possibly an amount to be paid. If it turns out that the accused player is completely innocent, he will be acquitted and may appear again in the next game.
