Michael Frey (born July 19, 1994 in Münsingen ) is a Swiss football player who is under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul .
Youth and family
Frey grew up in Münsingen and later attended the Design School in Bern .
His older brother David Frey also played for BSC Young Boys and was also under contract with FC Thun .
Career
society
Frey began playing soccer at FC Münsingen when he was five . In 2008 he joined BSC Young Boys as a junior player and then played for FC Thun until 2010 . Since the end of the 2011/12 season he was used in the first team of the BSC Young Boys. His contract ran until the summer of 2016. In the summer of 2014, however, Frey moved to Lille OSC and signed a four-year contract there. The fee should have been three million euros.
On January 27, 2016, Frey was loaned to FC Luzern in Switzerland until June 30, 2016 .
After his return, the striker played one season each with his old club BSC Young Boys and with FC Zurich , with which he won the Swiss Cup in 2018 . For Zurich, Frey scored 16 hits in 39 cross-competition games.
For the 2018/19 Süper Lig season , the Turkish first division club Fenerbahçe Istanbul signed the attacker and used him 22 times (5 goals). With the club Frey was sixth at the end of the season and thus just failed to qualify for the European Cup.
1. FC Nürnberg , relegated to the German 2nd Bundesliga , agreed with Fenerbahçe at the end of August 2019 a loan deal for the Swiss that would be valid until the end of the season.
