David Frey (born February 8, 1991 ) is a Swiss football player . He has been without a club since 2016.

Player career

David Frey began his career in the 2008/09 season at FC Thun in the Challenge League , for whose professional team he made his debut on October 6, 2008 in the match against FC Gossau in the second-highest Swiss division. He came on in the 72nd minute for midfielder Stefan Glarner . He received a total of nine missions with the Thuners, but could not score a hit. In July 2009, his transfer to BSC Young Boys was announced. The midfielder reportedly received a one-year contract with the Bernese. In the 2009/10 season he was temporarily in the professional squad of the Young Boys, but was only used in their U-21 team in the third highest division, the 1st division , until the end of the season .

His younger brother Michael Frey played in the first team of BSC Young Boys from 2012-2014 and has been under contract with FC Zurich since July 2017 .
