Karlheinz Schmid

Karlheinz Schmid (born October 24, 1953 in Hanau ) is a German journalist . He acts as the publisher and editor-in-chief of the " Kunstzeitung " and the industry newsletter "Informationsdienst Kunst" as well as co-editor of the annually published magazine "Kunstjahr", which is published by his publishing house Lindinger + Schmid in Berlin .

education

1974 to 1979 he studied painting and art theory with Raimer Jochims at the State University of Fine Arts - Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main .

career

1979 to 1982 he was editor of the Hanauer Anzeiger , 1982 to 1986 of the Hamburg art magazine "Art" . From 1986 to 1991 he was an author for Frankfurter Allgemeine Magazin , Hessischer Rundfunk , Kunstforum , Spiegel , Stern , ZDF , Die Zeit . Schmid worked as a curator , moderator and seminar leader. In 1991 he was one of the founders of the Lindinger + Schmid publishing house and has been the publisher of "Informationsdienst Kunst" since 1991, and since 1996 also editor-in-chief and publisher of the art newspaper .

Teaching activities

From 1988 to 1994 he was a lecturer in the Department of Cultural Studies at the University of Lüneburg. In 1998/1999 he was visiting professor for art theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.
