Serdar Aziz (born October 23, 1990 in Bursa ) is a Turkish football player . He has been under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul since January 2019 .

Career

Youth team at Bursaspor

Aziz started club football in the youth of Bursaspor . In the 2006/07 season, the then coach of the professional team, Raşit Çetiner , recognized his talent and ensured that Aziz received a professional contract. In addition to his work in the reserve team, he was able to participate in the training of the professional team.

Bursa Merinosspor

To enable him match practice in a higher league, he was loaned out to third division club Bursa Merinosspor in 2007 . Here he made his professional debut and made a total of eleven league appearances.

Bursaspor

For the 2008/09 season Aziz returned to Bursaspor and played here mainly for the reserve team. He was also used in the professional team and made six Süper Lig games. He made his debut for the professional team on October 25, 2008 against Fenerbahçe Istanbul . In the 2009/10 season, the professional team completely waived Aziz and let him play exclusively for the reserve team. Because he was eligible to play for the professional team, he was named as a player in the squad that won the Turkish football championship for the first time in the club's history . In the 2010/11 season he was called back to the professional team. Towards the end of the first half of the season, he made his breakthrough in the first team. Since then he has had a regular place and is one of the leading players.

Galatasaray Istanbul

On June 22, 2016, Aziz signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray Istanbul . The transfer fee was 4.5 million euros. In his first year for Galatasaray, Aziz made five league games. In the following season 2017/18, the situation changed for him. He played 27 league games and scored one goal.

The center-back scored his first goal for Galatasarsay on Matchday 23 against his former club Bursaspor. At the end of the 2017/18 season, Aziz celebrated his second championship title. On January 30, 2019, his contract with Galatasaray was terminated.

Fenerbahçe Istanbul

Serdar Aziz joined Fenerbahçe Istanbul on a free transfer in January 2019 .

National team

Aziz went through all of his country's youth national teams from the Turkish U-16s to the U-21s . From 2013, Aziz was also nominated for the Turkish national team . On November 16, 2014, he made his A international debut in the EM2016 qualifying match against the Kazakh national team . In this encounter he also scored his first international goal.

Personal life

Serdar Aziz has been married to Tuğçe Türk since May 2014.
