society

Tekin was born in Menemen , a district and district of the western Turkish city of Izmir . Here he began in 2002 in the youth department of Menemen Belediyespor , the sports club from Tekin's homeland, with club football.

In the summer of 2007 he moved to the Istanbul third division club Güngören Belediyespor . At this club he was in his first season as a substitute keeper in eleven games. With his club he finished the season as a play-off winner and rose to the TFF 1st Lig . In the second Turkish league, Tekin took over the regular goalkeeping post during the season and completed 21 league games by the end of the season. Since his club missed relegation, Tekin played again with his club in the TFF 2nd Lig from summer 2009 . In the 2009/10 season he competed with Orhan Altay for the goalkeeper post and was able to guard about half of the league games the gate. With his club succeeded in the championship of the league and thereby the direct return to the TFF 1st Lig.

For the 2010/11 season Tekin signed a three-year contract with the reigning Turkish champions Bursaspor. In his first season for this club, he remained behind Dimitar Ivankov and Yavuz Özkan the third goalkeeper in the squad and was only used in one cup encounter. With his club he ended the season as third in the table and thus reached the second-best first division placement in the club's history. In the 2011/12 season he remained without a competitive game and reached the final of the Turkish Cup with his club . In the 2012/13 season Tekin rose to Bursaspor behind Scott Carson to the second goalkeeper. In this role he guarded the gate in most cup encounters. From the start of the second half of the season, he also gradually ousted Carson and guarded the gate in six league games. After Bursaspor signed Sébastien Frey in the summer of 2013 , Tekin lost his regular place to Frey. After head coach Christoph Daum was replaced by İrfan Buz at Bursaspor , Tekin ousted Frey as the goalkeeper under this new coach. In the 2014/15 season, the new head coach Şenol Güneş decided for Tekin as the goalkeeper and against Frey.

In August 2018, he moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul during the 2018/19 season .

National team

After Tekin had been able to convince his club for a long time, he was nominated for the first time in his career for the squad of the Turkish national team in November 2014 as part of a qualifying game of the European Championship 2016 by national coach Fatih Terim , but not used. Without an international match, he was accepted as the second substitute goalkeeper in the Turkish squad for the 2016 European Football Championship in France.
