Orhan Altay (born May 1, 1978 in Silifke ) is a former Turkish soccer goalkeeper and current coach.

Player career

Altay started his professional football career in 1997 with the then third division team Silifkespor , the club in his hometown Silifke . For the 1999/2000 season Altay moved within the league to Inegölspor and played here for the next two seasons. He then went to the second division team Ankara Şekerspor and was also active here for two years. But after Şekerspor missed relegation and relegation in the summer of 2003, Altay left this club and moved to the second division club Kayseri Erciyesspor . Here he sat on the bench for half a season and therefore left this club in the spring for Mersin İdman Yurdu . For this club he played for the next two and a half seasons and left it after relegated to the 3rd division in the summer of 2006. The next time he played for the duration of one season in succession for the third division clubs Kahramanmaraşspor and Hatayspor and then returned to Mersin İY in the summer of 2008.

After the promotion with Mersin İY in the TFF 1. Lig , Altay left this club and instead hired the Istanbul third division club Güngören Belediyespor . With this club he became champion of the third division season 2009/10 and rose for the second time in a row in the TFF 1. Lig. In contrast to Mersin İY he was kept in the squad this time and played for this club, which took its name in Istanbul in the summer of 2011 Güngörenspor changed the next three seasons.

In the summer of 2013 he moved to the amateur club Adapazarıspor .

Coaching career

From the summer of 2014 Altay switched to coaching and was the first activity at Diyarbekirspor as a goalkeeping coach. This was followed by several short-term positions at various fourth division clubs.
