Batman Petrolspor is a Turkish football club from the eastern Anatolian city of Batman . In addition to the well-known soccer department, the club has other sports departments such as basketball , rowing , swimming , wrestling and athletics . The wrestling division in particular recorded some notable successes in the 1970s. founding

The club was founded in 1960 as the company sports club of the Turkish mineral oil company Türkiye Petrolleri ( TPAO for short ) and entertained several sports such as basketball , rowing , swimming , wrestling and athletics . Since the club was founded, the soccer team took part in the Batman Amatör Futbol Ligi (German: Amateur Soccer League of the Batman Province ).

Entry into professional football

In the summer of 1985, when he was promoted to the 3rd league , at that time the third-highest Turkish soccer league, he entered professional soccer. The first season in the 3rd Lig you ended in 5th place in the table.

After the club was active in the 3rd league until the summer of 1997, it rose as the third division champion of the 1996/97 season for the first time in its club history in the 2nd league , at that time the second highest Turkish football league.

In the 2nd Lig he played club until the summer of 2002 and then rose to the third highest Turkish football league, which had now been renamed in Türkiye 2nd Futbol Ligi Bategorisi .
