history

Foundation and the first years

The club was founded in 1957 under the name Silivrispor Kulübü in his home district of Silivri in the Turkish city of Istanbul. Under this name, the team played in the lower Istanbul amateur leagues until 1984.

Entry into professional football

After Turkish professional football had been reduced from three to just two professional leagues in the summer of 1980, the third highest professional football league, the 3rd Lig , now known as TFF 2nd Lig , was reintroduced in 1984 on the directive of then President Turgut Özal . In addition, it was announced that after certain requirements and conditions have been met, you can apply for participation in the league. In order to promote urban development, several city notables tried to meet the requirements. After the conditions were met, the Turkish Football Association confirmed participation. So Silivrispor took part in the 1984/85 season in the re-introduced 3rd Lig. In the second season, the club reached the championship of the 3rd Lig and rose for the first time in the club's history to the second highest Turkish league, then known as the 2nd Lig .

Relegation to the amateur league

Promoted to the second division, the club missed relegation in its first second division season and returned to the third division. In this league Silivrispor played until the summer of 1994 and then rose to the regional amateur league.

Return to professional football and modern times

In the regional amateur league of the 2011/12 season, Silivrispor finished the league in second place and qualified for the playoff phase of the league, in which the last promoted to the TFF 3rd Lig were played. In the playoffs, the team prevailed against Emirdağspor and Bursa Merinosspor and thus rose to the 3rd Lig. After 18 years, the club took part in professional football again.

In the fourth division season 2016/17 , the club finished the TFF 3rd Lig as a play-off winner and rose to the TFF 2nd Lig .
