history
The club was founded in 1984 in the district capital Gölcük from the district of the same name in the province of Kocaeli through the merger of the two amateur clubs Gölcükspor and Dumlupınar Gençlik under the name Gölcükgücü .
Immediately after the club was founded, the club took part in the 1984/85 season in what was then the third-highest Turkish league, today's TFF 2. Lig . Here they celebrated the championship straight away and rose to the second highest Turkish league, today's TFF 1. Lig , in the second season . After just one season, they were relegated to the bottom of the table in the TFF 2nd Lig. At the end of the 1993/94 season, the club rose to the regional amateur league.
After eight years of abstinence from Turkish professional football, the club rose to the lowest Turkish professional league, the fourth-class TFF 3rd Lig , in the summer of 2002 and has been a permanent member of this league ever since.
