Kütahyaspor is a Turkish football club from Kütahya that was founded on May 26, 1966. The club has played in the amateur league since 2008, but previously played in the Turkish second division for many years .

history

Kütahyaspor was founded in 1966 with the union of the clubs Dumlupınarspor, Dağcılık, Kütahya Gençlik and Alayunt Gençlik.

One of the most important events in the club's history is the game against Galatasaray Istanbul in the Turkish Cup in the 1968/69 season. The first half of the season was won by the Kütahyaspor team 4-3. This is the club's most important victory to date. In the second half of the season, however, the team lost 2-1, which meant that they were eliminated from the tournament because of the goal difference. Galatasaray Istanbul later became the winner of the tournament.

The best season in the club's history is the 1969/70 season. The club reached the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup tournament, in which they shot Feriköy with a 2-1 win in the preliminary round, outwitted Mersin İdman Yurdu in the round of 16 with 1-1 in the first half and 1-0 in the second half and in the quarterfinals Won against PTT SK with 2-0 in the first half of the season and 2-3 in the second half of the season. In the semi-finals, the team met Eskişehirspor . The first half of the season ended in a goalless draw . Eskişehirspor won the second half of the season 4-0 and thus Kütahyaspor was eliminated from the tournament.

In the summer of 2016, the club secured the championship and then, through a relegation phase, promotion to the TFF 3rd Lig . As a result, the club returned to professional football after eight years of abstinence.
