Cizrespor is a Turkish football club from Cizre , Şırnak .
history
Cizrespor was founded in 1972 as "Cizre Serhat Spor Kulübü" and began to play games in the Mardin Amatoer Lig. The season 1983/84 ended the club as champions and rose to the fourth division . They were represented in the fourth highest Turkish league until 1994, but were demoted to the amateur league by the Turkish Football Federation because of players who did not appear for games and training .
Only one season after forced relegation, the team from Cizrespor made it back to the fourth division. After this season the club officially changed its name from "Cizre Serhat Spor Kulübü" to "Cizrespor".
With the championship, which was reached after the 1999/00 season, the club rose to the third division . The season 2000/01 ended the club in the third division as champions of its group and thus had the chance of promotion to the second highest division , but failed in the play-offs.
After 7 seasons in the third division, the club rose after the 2006/07 season to the Şırnak Amatoer Lig.
Founded in 2012
The club played in the 2010/11 season in the Şırnak 1. Amatoer Ligi and disbanded after the season. In the summer of 2012, the naming rights were transferred to Cizre Basraspor and this association was renamed Cizrespor. The newly founded club took part in the 2012/13 season in the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig , the fifth highest Turkish league in general and the highest Turkish amateur league in particular.
Entry into professional football
In the 2014/15 season, the club ended the season of the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig as champions and rose to the TFF 3rd Lig , the lowest Turkish professional league. In the course of a new escalation between the state and the PKK , curfews were imposed in some southeastern cities, including Cizre. As a result of these developments, Cizespor was not allowed to play its home games in front of a home crowd and either had to move to neighboring cities or postpone the games indefinitely. Parallel to these developments, the club could not pay the players' salaries and had to release a large part of its squad. After all these imponderables, the club voluntarily withdrew from the league. All remaining or postponed games were rated with a 0: 3 defeat. At the end of the season, the club should be relegated to the bottom of the table in the Boelgesel Amatoer Lig. This relegation was canceled by the association, taking into account the innumerable imponderables to do with the club and the club was also retained in the TFF 3rd Lig for the 2016/17 season.
