Yalovaspor is a Turkish football club from the provincial capital Yalova from the province of the same name . The Green-Reds play their home games at Yalova Ataturk Stadium .

history

founding

The club was founded in 1963 through the merger of the two clubs Gençlikspor and Kayaspor in Yalova and took part in the İstanbul Amatoer Ligi because of its proximity . In order to bring professional football to the more remote provinces, the previously abolished third-highest Turkish division, today's TFF 2nd Lig , was re-established for the 1983/84 season and teams from the amateur leagues were added. In this context, Yalovaspor was also included in this league. Here they played continuously until the summer of 1990 and then rose through the championship in the TFF 2nd Lig for the first time in the club's history in the second highest Turkish league, today's TFF 1st Lig . After four seasons, the club rose again from the 2nd Lig. Until the summer of 2011 Yalovaspor played in the TFF 2nd Lig or in the lowest Turkish professional league, the TFF 3rd Lig . In the summer of 2001 the club rose again after 28 years in the regional amateur league, the Boelgesel Amatoer Ligi .
