Kıvanç Karakaş (born March 3, 1985 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player.

Career

Karakaş learned to play football in the youth teams of Beylerbeyi, Beşiktaş Istanbul and Selimiye. In the 2005/03 season he signed a professional contract with fourth division Beykozspor . Here he played two seasons, mostly as a supplementary player, and only made 14 appearances during this time.

With the expiry of his contract, he moved within the league to Yalovaspor .

Due to his good performance at Yalovaspor, several teams from the top leagues became aware of him. Kıvanç Karakaş had several offers. He decided on the offer of the traditional club and second division from Izmir Karşıyaka . Here he made the leap into the regular formation straight away.

His three-year contract with Karşıyaka expired for the season. Although Karşıyaka wanted to extend the contract early, Karakaş refused. He had several offers from first division clubs. At the request of coach Rıza Çalımbay , he moved to Sivasspor . Çalımbay had had the midfielder observed several times and had received an oral confirmation from Karakaş early on. Although he was not consistently in the starting lineup, he came regularly to missions and was able to assert himself.

Although he had spent a successful season at Sivasspor, he surprisingly left the club and moved to the second division club Şanlıurfaspor .

For the 2012/13 season Karakaş moved to the Süper Lig for promoted Çaykur Rizespor . Crucial for this change was the fact that Rıza Çalımbay , his coach from his time at Sivasspor, now coached Rizespor.

In the summer of 2015, he returned to Şanlıurfaspor. After half a season he moved to Eskişehirspor and thus back to the Süper Lig. After missing relegation with this club in the summer of 2016, he moved to the second division Bandırmaspor .
