Coşkun Demirbakan (born November 10, 1954 in Eskişehir ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. During his active career, he was nicknamed the Imparator .

Player career

Demirbakan began his professional football career in the 1972/73 season with Fenerbahçe Istanbul . The defender made his debut on May 13, 1973 against Giresunspor , this was his only game for that season. For the 1973/74 season Demirbakan moved to the 2nd division to Malatyaspor and stayed just as with Fenerbahçe only one season. He returned to the Süper Lig and played for Eskişehirspor from then on .

In his first season he was part of the extended squad and came up with eight games. In the second and third seasons, his role in the team changed. He became a regular player and played 58 of 60 league games. Through this achievement his return to Fenerbahçe Istanbul came about. Demirbakan also played as a regular player at Fenerbahçe Istanbul and became Turkish champions for the first and only time in the 1977/78 season . In the following season he was with the team of Turkish Cup winners .

During the 1979/80 season he came only to four missions, which is why a separation took place at the end of the season. He went to the second division Sakaryaspor . In his first year with Sakarya he was promoted to the Süper Lig. In the 1982/83 season Demirbakan suffered an injury to the meniscus . This injury forced him to retire early in 1985.

For Turkey , Coşkun Demirbakan played twice.

Coaching career

In his coaching career Demirbakan worked for many clubs. He celebrated his greatest success with the promotion of Diyarbakırspor to the Süper Lig in May 2009.

In January 2016 he took over the second division side Elazığspor and resigned after five matchdays. In September 2018 he was introduced as the new head coach at the second division Adanaspor . In September 2019 he took over Eskişehirspor again as head coach.
