Boluspor is a Turkish football club from Bolu . The association was founded on December 28, 1965 . The club colors have been red and white since it was founded.

history

founding

On December 28, 1965 the clubs Abantspor and Bolu Gençlik merged and called themselves Boluspor. After its establishment, Boluspor was one of the first teams in Turkish football with a full board. In his first professional year in the 1966/67 season Boluspor reached 11th place. In the 1967/68 and 1968/69 seasons they were 5th and 3rd respectively. In the following season 1969/70, the red-whites made it to the first division and won the Prime Minister's Cup .

General

Four years after promotion, Boluspor achieved the best result of the season with 3rd place in the Süper Lig . The last good result so far Bolu achieved in the 1980/81 season. In the cup final they lost to MKE Ankaragücü with an overall result of 1: 2 (back 1: 2, back 0: 0). Boluspor's last game in the 1st division so far was in 1992 . After that it got quieter around the club. 10 years after relegation to the second division, the former first division suddenly played in the fourth division. The association has now rehabilitated itself. Since the 2007/08 season, the club has returned to the second division . In the 2007/2008 season, Boluspor narrowly missed promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig because the club lost the last relegation game on May 18, 2008 against the traditional club Eskişehirspor with 0-2.

Modern times

After Boluspor was trained by Reha Erginer in the 2014/15 season, the expiring contract with Erginer was not extended after the end of the season. Instead, the club's management introduced the former Bundesliga professional Ümit Özat as the new head coach in June 2015 . A few weeks after this new appointment, however, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement due to differences. At the end of July 2015, the club introduced Özcan Bizati as the new head coach .
