Mustafa Kemal Kılıç (born April 25, 1956 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

society

Kılıç started playing professional football in Adanaspor's youth . For the 1974/75 season he was included in the squad of professionals and completed 16 league matches by the end of the season. At the end of the season he finished fourth with his club and thus the second-best place in the table in the club's history.

For the new season he moved within the league to Zonguldakspor and played here for a season.

In the summer of 1976 he moved to the traditional Turkish club Beşiktaş Istanbul . At this club he immediately won a regular place and was a fixture in the team for four years. For the 1980/81 season Đorđe Milić took over the head coach of Beşiktaş and sorted out some players, including Kılıç, as the first official act.

Kılıç then agreed for the upcoming with the traditional club Altay Izmir . Here he only played one season and then moved to the second-rate TFF 1st Lig , to Kayserispor and also played a season here.

For the season Kılıç went for a transfer fee of 12.5 million Turkish Lira to the capital club MKE Ankaragücü and played for this club for two seasons.

The following years he was for Kayserispor and Bakırköyspor . At the latter club he ended his active professional football career in the summer of 1988.

National team

Kılıç went through the Turkish U-18 and Turkish U-21 national teams . In 1977 he was nominated for the Turkish national team by the then national coach Metin Türel as part of an encounter against the Bulgarian national team . In this encounter on February 16, 1977 Kılıç sat on the bench and did not come to his international debut.

Coaching career

Following his playing career, he switched to coaching and was his first activity in 1991 as assistant coach at Bakırköyspor . After two years in this position, he was promoted to head coach in 1993 and looked after the club for two years.

After six months as assistant coach at Adanaspor in 1995, he worked the following years exclusively as head coach and mainly coached clubs in the TFF 1st Lig and TFF 2nd Lig .

In the summer of 2011 he took over the third division club Şanlıurfaspor and reached the TFF 2nd Lig championship with this club at the end of the season and thus direct promotion to the TFF 1st Lig to stay. Already after the 3rd match day of the 2012/13 season, his contract with Şanlıurfaspor dissolved by mutual agreement and left the club.

At the end of October he was introduced to the second division team Göztepe Izmir as the successor to Hüseyin Kalpar . In mid-November 2012 he suffered a heart attack and was then represented on an interim basis by his assistant trainer Ümit İnal . After he had missed relegation with the club, he left Göztepe and was then replaced by Erhan Altın .

At the end of June 2013 it was announced that Kılıç would look after his old club Bucaspor in the coming season . He signed a one-year contract here. He resigned from his post after the 13th match day.
