Tuzla Spor Kulübü or Tuzlaspor is a Turkish football club from the Istanbul district of Tuzla and was founded in 1954. The team plays their home games at Tuzla Belediye Stadyumu. The club colors are blue and white.
history
Foundation and the first years
The club was founded on 1954 in the Istanbul district of Tuzla . After it was founded, the club played in the lower Istanbul amateur leagues.
Entry into professional football
In the summer of 2012, the club rose to the Boelgesel Amatoer Ligi , the highest Turkish amateur league. In his season in this league Tuzlaspor finished them as champions and rose for the first time in his club's history in the TFF 3rd Lig . This rise also meant the club's first participation in Turkish professional football. In the 2014/15 season Tuzlaspor sensationally reached the round of 16 in the Turkish Football Cup , after knocking out Kasımpaşa Istanbul in the qualifying round , they came first in the group ahead of teams like Sivasspor or Gaziantepspor .
In a first fourth division season, the club finished the league in 4th place in the table and qualified for the relegation phase. In this relegation phase, known as play-offs in Turkish football, the team was eliminated 4-6 in the semifinals after a penalty shoot-out against Menemen Belediyespor.
The second season in the TFF 3rd Lig, the fourth division season 2014/15 , the team with Darıca Gençlerbirliği delivered a head-to-head race for the championship. After the autumn championship was awarded to Darıca Gençlerbirliği, the club took over the championship lead on matchday 24 and finished the season confidently as champions. Thus, the club rose for the first time in its club history in the third highest Turkish league, the TFF 2nd Lig .
On December 4, 2019 , the club caused a sensation when the third division team won 2-0 in the first leg of the 5th cup round at Galatasaray Istanbul . However, the second leg ended 4-0 for the favorites and Tuzlaspor was eliminated.
