Mustafa Uğur (born January 19, 1963 in Kayseri ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach.
Player career
Uğur played for Kayserispor for most of his career . In 15 years he and his teammates managed to get promoted from the 3rd to the 2nd division at the end of the 1990/91 season. A season later, the march through to the Süper Lig succeeded . Before retiring, he played for Küçükçekmecespor .
Coaching career
Uğur started as a coach immediately after his active career. He became an assistant coach at Kayseri Erciyesspor and coached the youth team in the following season. As head coach, he took over the 1st team in March 2000 and helped them move up to the 2nd division. In the summer before the 2001/02 season, he moved to Kayserispor . They split early after the first half of the season. In the 2004/05 season he returned to Kayseri Erciyesspor and rose with his team to the Süper Lig.
This was followed by engagements at Samsunspor , Diyarbakırspor , Kayseri Erciyesspor, Boluspor and Karşıyaka SK .
On October 4, 2012, he was introduced to Adana Demirspor as the successor to the resigned Osman Özdemir . In his first game on October 7, 2012 against arch rivals Adanaspor , he celebrated a 4-2 victory with his team. For the 2013/4 season, his expiring contract was not extended and Uğur was replaced by Yücel İldiz .
Before the 13th matchday of the 2013/14 season he took over the office of İldiz and was again head coach of Adana Demirspor . After the 24th day of the same season, he resigned from his position.
In July 2014 he took over the third division club Yeni Malatyaspor .
