Yücel İldiz (born June 4, 1953 in Adana ) is a Turkish football coach .
Career
Yücel İldiz trained İskenderunspor at the beginning of his career . His next coaching position followed six years later at Hatayspor . Short terms of office followed at: Diyarbakırspor , Adanaspor , Adana Demirspor , Şanlıurfaspor and Malatyaspor . During this time he worked several times again for Hatayspor and Diyarbakırspor.
İldiz had his first major success as a coach in the 2000/01 season with Malatyaspor . With a 4-2 win after penalties in the play-off final, his team managed to secure the last promotion spot and from now on play in the Süper Lig . With Orduspor he rose in the 2004/05 season from the 3rd division to the 2nd division . His team set a new record in the 3rd division with 17 wins in a row. After three years in Ordu, he went to Samsunspor and then back to Orduspor. Both seasons were rather unsuccessful.
At the beginning of the 2009/10 season İldiz signed with the second division Kardemir Karabükspor . In the first year he managed to move up to the Süper Lig with Karabükspor. In his first Süper Lig year with Karabükspor, the season ended in 9th place. The 2011/12 season started badly for his team. In the first ten games there were six defeats and they finished 16th, which is why İldiz resigned after two years in Karabük.
For the 2012/13 season, the experienced coach came to an agreement with the second division club Karşıyaka SK . But before the season started, İldiz canceled his contract. The reason for the termination was that the player commitments requested by the coach were not made.
For the season he took over the second division side Adana Demirspor . After the 12th game day, İldiz resigned from his post as head coach of Adana Demirspor.
For the 2015/16 season he took over from the TFF 1st Lig the promoted Yeni Malatyaspor . After a disappointing start to the season from both the club's and their own perspective, İldiz's contract was terminated in October 2015 by mutual agreement.
At the end of December 2015, he was hired as head coach for the second time in his career at the second division Kardemir Karabükspor. At the end of the season he led the team to the runner-up and again to the Süper Lig. After this success, he left the club again.
In November 2016 he took over the second division club Giresunspor . With this club he played for the championship and thus the direct promotion to the Süper Lig and missed this in the last game days. Instead, he qualified with Giresunspor for the play-offs of the 1st Lig, in which the last and promoted of the knockout system was determined. Here he failed with his team in the semifinals to Eskişehirspor . For the new season he received no contract extension and was replaced by Metin Diyadin . In September 2017 he was introduced to Eskişehirspor as the new coach.
At Eskişehirspor, the contract was terminated early in April 2018. After a six-month break, İldiz signed with ambitious league rivals Denizlispor in October 2018 . In 24 matches he lost only one game with Denizlispor, so that İldiz and the team were able to celebrate the championship of the TFF 1st Lig 2018/19 and promotion to the Süper Lig .
In the Süper Lig, the team started with a 2-0 home win against last year's champions Galatasaray Istanbul , followed by another 2-0 win against Antalyaspor . In the following five games he could not win, so Denizlispor announced the dismissal of İldiz ' after the seventh game day and the 5-1 defeat against Malatyaspor .
