The Spor Toto 1st Lig 2018/19 was the 56th season of the second highest Turkish division in men's football. It began on August 10, 2018 with the first match day and ended with the play-off final on May 30, 2019.
Attendees
At the beginning of the season , the three relegated teams from the first-class Süper Lig Gençlerbirliği Ankara , Osmanlıspor FK , Kardemir Karabükspor and the three newly promoted teams from the third-class TFF 2. Lig Altay İzmir , Hatayspor , Afjet Afyonspor were added to the 12 teams remaining from the previous season .
The first division relegated Gençlerbirliği Ankara returned to the first league after 29 years of membership in the first division, while Osmanlıspor FK after three years and Kardemir Karabükspor after two years of membership in the first division again participated in the second highest Turkish division. The promoted Altay İzmir returned as third division champions after seven years, Hatayspor as third division champions after a 16-year break, while Afjet Afyonspor rose as the play-off winner of the TFF 2. Lig for the first time in his club history in the 1. Lig.
