The PTT 1. Lig 2015/16 was the 53rd season of the second highest Turkish division in men's football. It began in August 2015 with the first match day and ended on May 27, 2016 with the play-off final between Multigroup Alanyaspor and Adana Demirspor .

Attendees

At the beginning of the season , the three relegated teams from the first-class Süper Lig Kayseri Erciyesspor , Balıkesirspor , Kardemir Karabükspor and the three promoted teams from the third-class TFF 2. Lig 1461 Trabzon , Göztepe Izmir , Yeni Malatyaspor were added to the 12 teams remaining from the previous season .

The first division relegated Kayseri Erciyesspor returned to the first league after two years of membership in the first division, while Kardemir Karabükspor after seven years and Balıkesirspor after one year of membership in the first division again participated in the second highest Turkish division. The promoted Göztepe Izmir returned as third division champion after two years, Yeni Malatyaspor as third division champion after 15 years and 1461 Trabzon as play-off winner after a year of abstinence back in the TFF 1. Lig.
