Arnaldo Edi Lopes da Silva , nicknamed Edinho (born July 7, 1982 in Aveiro ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

society

Edinho began club football in 1997 in the AC Almada's youth department . Two years later he was part of the professional squad, for which he played until the summer of 2002. He then moved to FC Barreirense before moving to Sporting Braga a year later . After he had been active for one and a half seasons for the reserve team, he began to play more and more for the 1st team and was finally taken over completely in this team. With the professionals he did not come regularly to missions, which is why he was loaned out to FC Paços de Ferreira and Gil Vicente FC .

In the summer of 2007 Edinho moved to Vitória Setúbal and only played the first half of the season before he was loaned to the Greek club AEK Athens for the second half . After Edinho made a good impression here, he was brought into the team at the end of the season with the transfer fee. For the Athenians he played another season and was then given over to the Spanish club FC Málaga . Here he managed to assert himself as a regular player, which is why he was loaned to various clubs until 2013. He was with the Académica de Coimbra in the 2011/12 Portuguese football cup winner .

In the summer of 2013 he returned to his old club, Sporting Braga. For the second half of the 2013/14 season he was loaned to the Turkish first division club Kayseri Erciyesspor . Erciyesspor had a purchase option at the end of the season, after which the Central Anatolians could commit Edinho for a fixed transfer fee. After Edinho became one of the shooting stars of the second half of the Süper Lig with eleven goals in 15 league games , Erciyesspor pulled this purchase option at the end of the season. After Erciyesspor missed relegation in the summer of 2015, Edinho left this club and moved to the Turkish second division club Şanlıurfaspor for the new season .

In the summer of 2016 he returned to his former club Vitória Setúbal.
