Fikret Yılmaz (born August 1, 1957 in Adana ) is a former Turkish football goalkeeper and coach. He is the father of the Turkish national player Burak Yılmaz .

Player career

Yılmaz's footballing career is only partially known. In the 1980s and 1990s he played for Adanaspor , Antalyaspor and MKE Ankaragücü, among others .

Coaching career

A few years after the end of his career at Antalyaspor, Yılmaz began to work as a youth coach and took on various youth teams and tasks. For the 2000/01 season he worked for the same club as the goalkeeping coach of the professional team. At the end of the season he left Antalyaspor and began as goalkeeping coach to accompany head coach Ziya Doğan at his coaching stations Malatyaspor and Trabzonspor .

From November 2009 he started to work at MKE Ankaragücü as a goalkeeper coach. After head coach Hikmet Karaman was dismissed a few days later , Yılmaz took over the team for five match days on an interim basis and then handed over the office to the new head coach Roger Lemerre .

For the 2011/12 season he took over the second division Kayseri Erciyesspor as head coach. Here he formed a team with many players from the club's second team and experienced players and played for the championship lead until the winter break. After briefly leading the table, the first half of the season ended in 5th place in the table. On December 26, 2011, his resignation was announced.

In the summer of 2014 he was introduced as the new head coach at the second division club Orduspor . Yılmaz resigned as coach of Orduspor after the 4th matchday. In the four games he scored with his team, one win and three losses.

In November 2015 he took over the second division side Balıkesirspor . Here Yılmaz managed to stop the downward trend of the team and let them play at the top of the table again. After this trend could not continue after the winter break, Yılmaz was dismissed from the club's management.
