Ziyaettin Doğan (born January 1, 1961 in Gümüşhane ) is a former Turkish soccer player and today's soccer coach.
Active career
Doğan played in the youth of Beşiktaş Istanbul . In 1978 he was appointed to the senior team. In the 1981/82 season, the midfielder scored two goals on the last day of the game and cleared the way for the title win. Doğan played 194 games in eight years and scored 38 goals for the black and whites . He then played for two years for MKE Ankaragücü , Kocaelispor and one season for Zeytinburnuspor . At the end of the 1992/93 season he ended his career as a player.
Ziya Doğan completed 1 game for the Turkish national soccer team .
Coaching career
Doğan began his career as a coach in 1993 at İstanbulspor ; there he was employed as an assistant coach for six years. In 1999 he moved to Adanaspor and became head coach. Five game days before the end of the season, the team was still on a relegation zone; he saved the team and it was 9th place. He returned to Istanbulspor, but after a year he went to his previous club Beşiktaş Istanbul and was assistant coach of Nevio Scala . After a brief stint at Konyaspor , Doğan moved to Malatyaspor . At that time he was on a relegation zone. The 2001/02 season was secured with a 14th place. The following season he managed to qualify with the team before Fenerbahçe Istanbul in fifth for the UEFA Cup . In 2004 he took over Trabzonspor . There he won his first coaching title with the Turkish Cup . This was followed by activities at Gençlerbirliği Ankara , Malatyaspor and Trabzonspor.
From 2009 to 2011 Ziya Doğan was a trainer at Diyarbakırspor , Konyaspor and MKE Ankaragücü .
On November 28, 2014 Doğan was coach at the second division Orduspor . Just three months later, he resigned from his position in February 2015. He was the fifth Orduspor coach to resign in the 2014/15 season.
