Engin Korukır (born January 19, 1958 in Gölcük ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach.

Player career

Korukır's playing career is incompletely documented. It is known that he u. a. for the clubs Kocaelispor , Sakaryaspor , Ankara Sitespor and Darıca Gençlerbirliği .

After he had worked again for Kocaelispor in the late 1980s, he moved to third division club Mustafakemalpaşaspor in the summer of 1990 . At this club he stayed for two seasons and then ended his career.

Coaching career

Korukır started his coaching career in October 1996 with the head coach position at İzmitspor . In the following years he assisted various coaches as an assistant coach and in the meantime also worked as a junior coach.

In the summer of 2004 he took over the post of head coach at Kocaelispor . He then trained in turn Sarıyer SK and Mersin İdman Yurdu .

From summer 2006 he worked as an assistant coach at Antalyaspor , Ankaraspor and then again at Antalyaspor.

In March 2009 he took over the relegation-threatened club Giresunspor and coached this club until the 32nd matchday. In the following years he trained several TFF-1. Lig - and TFF-2. Lig clubs.

In the summer of 2012 he replaced the resigned coach Giray Bulak at the second division side Çaykur Rizespor . Korukır already worked as assistant coach for the Black Sea representative in the 2003/04 season. After getting off to a good start to the season with his team and leading the table for a long time, the team began to lose points. After losing 2-1 to the bottom of the table on Matchday 15, Korukır resigned from his position.

At the end of February 2014, he took over the second division side Boluspor . After Korukır had not taken over the team until the 27th matchday, he was dismissed after the 1: 4 home defeat on the 32nd matchday against Karşıyaka SK .

For the 2014/15 season he was introduced as the new head coach at the first division relegated MP Antalyaspor .

Before the 2015/16 season he was introduced as the new head coach of Şanlıurfaspor and was dismissed here after four match days. In February 2016 he succeeded the resigned head coach Ümit Özat at Samsunspor and worked here until September 2016. For the 2017/18 season he was introduced as the new head coach at the new second division club Gaziantepspor . However, the setting did not materialize later.
