Bozüyükspor is a Turkish football club from the district town of Bozüyük in the province of Bilecik . The ultramarine whites play their home games in the city stadium in Bozüyük .

history

The association was founded in 1926 under the name Bozüyük İdman Yurdu Spor Kulübü (short: Bozüyük İdman Yurdu SK or just Bozüyük İdman Yurdu). This name was changed to Bozüyük Gençlik in 1946 . In 1973 some local Bozüyük dignitaries got together and demanded a competitive football club. This demand was well received and so the four clubs Bozüyük Gençlik , Sümerspor , Yıldırımspor and Azimspor merge to form today's Bozüyükspor. The club played from then until 1984 in the regional amateur league. From the summer of 1984 they took part in the re-introduced third-rate TFF 2nd Lig . In the 1990/91 season, the club succeeded in the championship of the TFF 2nd Lig and thus promotion to the second-class TFF 1st Lig . Here, however, they only played one season and rose again in the summer of 1992 in the TFF 2nd Lig. In 1998 the club was relegated to the regional amateur league and only returned to the TFF 3rd Lig after eight years . From summer 2007 the club played again in the third-class TFF 2nd Lig.

In the third division season 2013/14 Bozüyükspor was already on the 29th matchday as relegated and on matchday 31 as the bottom of the table. As a result, the club rose back to the TFF 3rd Lig after seven years of membership in the third division.

Due to financial problems, Bozüyükspor announced his withdrawal from the league before the start of the 2014/15 season. The club was the first to be relegated. After this withdrawal, the regulations came into force, according to which teams that did not play two games within a season for no reason were automatically forced to relegate. All of the club's games were counted as a 3-0 defeat.
