Koray Palaz (born November 29, 1978 in Istanbul ) is an English - Turkish football coach .

Coaching career

Palaz moved with his family from Istanbul to London in 1989 . Here he started his coaching career in 2001. Gradually he acquired the necessary trainer licenses. From 2006 to 2011 he worked at Tottenham Hotspur as a scout and junior coach . In addition, he also worked as a scout for the Turkish national teams and was part of the fact that players like Colin Kâzım-Richards or Jem Paul Karacan could be won for the Turkish national teams.

In 2011 he moved to Turkey and worked one after the other at Kardemir Karabükspor and Orduspor as chief scout. From 2012 he also worked in this role at Beşiktaş Istanbul .

In February 2016, he took over the second division club Denizlispor and thus worked as head coach for the first time. Since he did not have the necessary coaching license at that time, he was officially employed as an assistant coach and his actual assistant coach Ümit Metin Yıldız was given to the association as head coach. He saved the team from relegation to the third division by taking a total of 21 points from 13 games with Denizlispor. The club took 15th place in the final table and was therefore allowed to remain in the league. After the season, Palaz left the team.

At the beginning of September 2016 he was hired as the new head coach at the second division club Manisaspor . Here, too, he was officially hired as an assistant coach, while his assistant coach Hasan Akçaylı was given to the association as head coach. After the 4-0 away defeat against newly promoted Bandırmaspor , Palaz resigned after just four matchdays.
