Vedat Muriqi (born April 24, 1994 in Prizren , FR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar football player who also has Albanian and Turkish citizenship .

Career

society

Muriqi went through the youth department of KF Liria in his hometown Prizren and was accepted into the professional squad in 2011. After he was loaned to KS Teuta Durrës in the 2013/14 season , he moved to KS Besa Kavaja in 2014 .

In the summer of 2014, Muriqi first took part in the pre-season preparatory camp at the Turkish first division club Eskişehirspor , but was not signed afterwards.

For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Turkish TFF 1st Lig for the northern Turkish representative Giresunspor . Even before the start of the 2015/16 season, however, Giresunspor signed him again. He finished the second division season 2015/16 with 17 league goals as second in the scorers list. Through this performance, he drew the interest of several first division clubs.

Finally, the first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara signed him in the summer transfer period 2016. Here he came to a total of 46 games in which he was able to score five goals.

In the winter break of 2017/18 he joined the second division club Çaykur Rizespor , with whom he made promotion to the Süper Lig in the same season . In the following season he reached 10th place with the promoted team. After one and a half seasons in the provincial town of Rize , 50 league games with 25 goals were recorded.

Muriqi moved to Fenerbahce Istanbul for the 2019/20 season .

National team

Muriqi played four times (1 goal) for the Albanian U-21 national team in 2013 and 2014 .

He has officially been playing for the Kosovar national soccer team since 2016 and has played 20 international matches so far. In the test match against Latvia (4-3) in Mitrovica on November 13, 2017 , he scored his first of five goals.
