Gökhan Süzen started with club football in the youth of Düzcespor and moved from there in 2004 to the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul . 2006 left his youth coach Abdullah Avcı Galatasaray and took over the second division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor . A short time later he brought Gökhan Süzen to his new place of work. Here Süzen was only a reserve player and was only used in cup games. In order to enable him to play in a professional league, he was loaned to fourth division club Alibeyköyspor in the 2007/08 season . In the 2008/09 season he then achieved the breakthrough at Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor and he completed 21 competitive games. Due to his consistently good performance, he was nominated for the national team in 2011.
For the second half of the 2012/13 season he moved to the traditional Istanbul club Beşiktaş Istanbul . After he could not fight for a regular place at his new club and was not used for the professionals in the 2013/14 season, he was loaned out to league rivals Gaziantepspor for the 2014/15 season.
After he had spent the first half of the 2015/16 season at Beşiktaş and without use, he moved to the second half of the season to league rivals Sivasspor . After he missed relegation with his club in the summer of 2016, he moved to third division side Tokatspor . In January 2017 he returned to his last club Sivasspor. At the end of the season he and his team reached the second division championship and thus direct promotion back to the Süper Lig . For the new season he moved to Giresunspor . About two months later, by mutual agreement, he dissolved his contract with Giresunspor and moved to league rivals Adanaspor .
