Timur Temeltaş (born January 13, 1992 in Frechen ) is a German - Turkish - Azerbaijani football player who also has German citizenship.

Player career

In the club

Temeltaş was born in Frechen as the son of parents of Turkish origin, who in turn come from the small Turkish town of Babaeski . Here he began playing club football at the age of four in the youth department of a local sports club. When he was eight, he joined the Bayer 04 Leverkusen youth team . He played for this club until 2007 and then joined the B-youth team at Alemannia Aachen . After he had also gone through the A-youth of this club, he was included in the squad of the second team for the 2010/11 season. Temeltaş played a season for the NRW League team and then received an offer from his former club Bayer Leverkusen to sign him for their second team. Temeltaş accepted and moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen II. Here he only stayed for one season and then moved on to 1. FC Kaiserslautern II .

In the summer of 2013 Temeltaş decided to continue his career in Turkey and therefore moved to the third division Altınordu Izmir . Here he quickly established himself as a regular player and reached the third division championship with his team two game days before the end of the season. As a result, Altınordu returned after 24 years of abstinence back to the TFF 1st Lig , in the second highest Turkish league.

For the 2016/17 season he moved within the 1st Lig to the Istanbul promoted Ümraniyespor .

National team

Temeltaş began his selection career with an appearance in 2008 in an international match for the German U-17 national team .

Since Berti Vogts started working as the Azerbaijani national coach, the Azerbaijani Football Association has pursued the strategy of nominating German-Turkish footballers for its national teams. Temeltaş was also recruited and made his debut with a service for the Azerbaijani U-21 national team .
