Rydell Poepon (born August 28, 1987 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch football player .
Career
Poepon was taken over for the 2005/06 season from the youth team of the AFC Ajax from his hometown of Amsterdam in the first team. The striker received a contract until 2011. However, he was never used for Ajax in the Eredivisie. In the winter break of 2006/07 he was awarded to the league competitor Willem II from Tilburg . After eight appearances in the second half of the season, he was able to prevail in the following season with the Tilburg team as a regular alongside Frank Demouge . He scored his first league goal in November against FC Utrecht ; This was followed three weeks later by a “double pack” in the 6-0 win over Excelsior Rotterdam and in the 3-0 win against the NEC from Nijmegen on December 30, 2007, he scored all three goals.
For the 2008/09 season Poepon moved to Sparta Rotterdam , whose relegation he could not prevent in his second season despite ten goals. After relegation, he joined re-promoted De Graafschap , where he usually plays between the outside Steve De Ridder and Yuri Rose as a center forward in attack. Even with the Doetinchemer , however, had to make their way to the Eerste divisie after two seasons.
After relegation, he moved to ADO Den Haag for the 2012/13 season , where he signed a two-year contract. But after a season in which he had only scored three goals in 27 missions, he moved again and joined the league rivals NAC Breda .
For the 2016/17 season, the Turkish second division team Boluspor Poepon signed. After two years for Boluspor, he moved to league rivals Gazişehir Gaziantep FK in the summer of 2018 . With this club he achieved the play-off victory of the TFF 1st Lig at the end of the season and thus promotion to the Süper Lig . He then returned to Boluspor.
National team
On August 22, 2007 Poepon made his debut in Jong Oranje in the 1-0 win in Skopje against Macedonia, in the same game as Gregory van der Wiel . In May 2008 he played with the U-21s at the Toulon tournament, in which the team won only one of three games, the only goal of the Dutch scored Dominique Kivuvu .
