Cenk Güvenç (born December 29, 1991 in Seligenstadt ) is a German - Turkish soccer player .

Career

youth

Güvenç, whose family came to Germany from Izmir in Turkey in the 1960s , attended the Merian School in Seligenstadt and played in his youth with Sportfreunde Seligenstadt , where his father had registered him at the age of five. In a 3-3 draw in a youth game in 2000, in which Güvenç scored all three goals, today's defender made the first acquaintance with Kickers Offenbach . After a few weeks he was contacted by the OFC and ordered to do a trial training session. Shortly afterwards, he switched to the Offenbacher youth department.

Güvenç, who sees his role model in Mergim Mavraj , also a graduate of the Merian School, worked for around ten years in the youth of the Offenbacher Kickers. So he came to several youth league appearances up to the 2008/09 season , most recently to 24 games and one goal in the U-19 Bundesliga . After this season, the team finished twelfth in a relegation place and had to begin relegation to the subordinate league.

society

During the summer break before the 2009/10 season , the 17-year-old Güvenç moved to Gaziantepspor in Turkey, where he signed a three-year contract until the end of June 2012. On October 2, 2009 he finally made his professional debut when he was on the pitch for the full game in the 0-0 away draw against Trabzonspor . In total, he came to seven missions in the 2009/10 season. In the 2010/11 season he was only three times in the squad, but was not used. From 2010 to 2012 he mostly only played for the junior and reserve team.

On July 20, 2012 it was announced that Güvenç will move to the second team of Atlético Madrid after his contract expires , where he signed a one-year contract.

After his contract in Madrid expired, Güvenç returned to Turkey and signed a two-year contract with the promoted Çaykur Rizespor .

The second half of the 2013/14 season, as well as the entire 2014/15 season, he spent on loan at Karşıyaka SK . After a total of 41 appearances and two goals in the TFF 1. Lig , Güvenç moved within the Aegean region to league rivals Denizlispor in the summer of 2015 and signed there for two years. He scored his first goal for Denizlispor on April 9, 2018 in the away game against Balıkesirspor , when he hit a header in the 42nd minute of the game.

After more than three and a half years at Denizlispor, Güvenç moved to league competitor Afjet Afyonspor in January 2019 .

National team

In February 2009, the young defender was in the squad of the Turkish U-19 national team for the first time . For this he played eleven games by January 2010. In April 2009 he came under U-18 national coach Ogün Temizkanoğlu to three missions in the U-18 selection.
