In January 2011 Mavraj moved early to SpVgg Greuther Fürth ; originally the change was not intended until the summer break. Mavraj played his way into the starting line-up of Fürth through good performances. After promotion to the Bundesliga, he was elected captain of the second division champions by the team council, and he led the SpVgg through their first and so far only Bundesliga season . After relegation, the captain's armband was passed on to Wolfgang Hesl , but Mavraj was able to defend his regular position. After the failed relegation game to return to the Bundesliga in May 2014 against Hamburger SV , he switched to Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Köln for the 2014/15 season , with whom he signed a three-year contract. He made his first appearance on matchday 8 in a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund .
On January 1, 2017, Mavraj moved to Hamburger SV . He received a contract that ran until June 30, 2019. In the seven games under the new coach Bernd Hollerbach , Mavraj made two appearances. In the first game under the third coach this season, Christian Titz , he was not considered for the matchday squad. On March 28, 2018, Mavraj was transferred to the second team for sporting reasons. In September Mavraj signed a two-year contract with Greek first division club Aris Thessaloniki .
The contract was terminated at the beginning of January 2019 and the defender returned to Germany. In the relegation games against third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden he was in the starting line-up. However, after a 2-1 away win in Wiesbaden, the Ingolstadt team lost the second leg at home 2: 3 and were relegated to the 3rd division due to the away goals rule .
