Paul Seguin (born March 29, 1995 in Magdeburg ) is a German soccer player who has been under contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth since January 2019 . His father is the former soccer player and Olympic medalist Wolfgang Seguin .

Seguin came to VfL Wolfsburg from 1. FC Lok Stendal in 2007 and went through all of the youth teams there. In 2011 he was appointed to the U-17 squad and from then on played in the B-Junior Bundesliga in which he made 38 appearances in two seasons. A year later he was promoted to the VfL U-19s and played in the A-Juniors Bundesliga , in which he won the A-Juniors championship the following year. After winning the youth championship, Seguin received a contract for the Bundesliga team of VfL, but played mainly for the U-19s in the following season. In the 2013/14 season he was appointed to the professional squad twice, but was never used.

Seguin played his first game in the first team on March 4, 2015, when he came on for Kevin de Bruyne in the 89th minute of the last 16 of the DFB Cup . In the same season he was four times in the Bundesliga squad and twice in the Europa League squad , but was not used.

In the 2015/16 season, Seguin continues to play mainly for VfL's second team, once he was nominated for the Champions League game against Manchester United , but was not used in this game either.

Seguin made his Bundesliga debut on April 23, 2016, the 31st matchday of the 2015/16 season, when he came on as a substitute for Daniel Caligiuri in the 85th minute of a 2-0 home defeat by FC Augsburg . On matchday 13 he scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 3-2 defeat against Hertha BSC , but was also sent off the field for the first time in the same game.

On December 20, 2016, Seguin extended his contract with VfL Wolfsburg until 2020.

Subsequently, Seguin moved on August 30, 2017 on loan for a year to the second division club Dynamo Dresden . By the end of the 2017/18 season , he made 23 league appearances.

For the season 2018/19 returned to Wolfsburg Seguin back, played under head coach Bruno Labbadia , however, do not matter.

On January 18, 2019, Seguin initially moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth on loan until the end of the second division season 2018/19 . After 11 league appearances in which he scored 2 goals, SpVgg Greuther Fürth also acquired the transfer rights to Seguin at the beginning of May 2019 and provided him with a contract with a term until June 30, 2022.

National team

He made his debut in the national jersey on November 10, 2016 in Berlin in the 1-0 win of the U21 national team against Turkey .
