Marius Funk (born January 1, 1996 in Aalen ) is a German soccer goalkeeper . He is under contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth and is a former young national player.

Career

society

As a youth, Funk moved from FV 08 Unterkochen to 1. FC Heidenheim in 2009 . A year later, the radio went into the youth academy of VfB Stuttgart . In the 2012/13 season , Funk won the German U-17 championship with the Stuttgart team . For the 2015/16 season he was promoted to the squad of the VfB second team. On July 25, 2015, Funk made his professional debut with VfB Stuttgart II on the 1st match day of the 2015/16 season in the 3rd professional league against Dynamo Dresden . Another six appearances were added, at the end of the season the Stuttgart Reserve rose as bottom of the table from the 3rd division.

Funk then moved to the second division SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He is occasionally used for his regional league team and has otherwise been the first deputy of the regular keeper Sascha Burchert since his engagement . At the beginning of May 2020, the goalkeeper's contract was extended to June 2022.

National team

On November 9, 2010, Funk made his debut for the German U15 national team against Poland. In the qualification for the U17 European Championship 2013 he was in the goal of the U17 national team of Germany . Funk played two games for the German U18 national team on November 14, 2013 against the Netherlands and on April 16, 2014 against England. At the U19 European Championships in 2015 , he was the goalkeeper of the German U19 national team and was eliminated from the bottom of the group.

Private

Marius' brother Patrick is also a professional soccer player.
