Marvin Stefaniak (born February 3, 1995 in Hoyerswerda ) is a German soccer player who is on loan from VfL Wolfsburg to SpVgg Greuther Fürth .

Career

society

Stefaniak started playing football at FC Lausitz Hoyerswerda before joining city rivals Hoyerswerdaer SV unit . Via the intermediate station SC Borea Dresden , he switched to Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2011 , where he was subsequently used in the relevant youth teams. Stefaniak received a professional contract there in March 2013 and was henceforth used in the second team in addition to his assignments in the U-17 and U-19 teams.

He made his competitive debut with the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga on February 15, 2014 in the 2: 3 away defeat against FSV Frankfurt , when he came on for Adam Sušac in the 84th minute of the game . After three more short appearances, Stefaniak made his first starting eleven on April 4 of the same year in a 0-0 draw in the away game against Energie Cottbus . On August 30, 2014 Stefaniak scored his first competitive goal for Dynamo Dresden in the 2-0 away win for Dresden against SV Wehen Wiesbaden . In the 2015/16 season Stefaniak rose with Dynamo as a third division champion in the 2nd Bundesliga. This season the midfielder was the league's best preparer with 17 assists in 34 games. He also scored four goals.

For the season 2017/18 Stefaniak moved to VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga . After being in the first round at no Bundesliga use and only three appearances in the second team in the fourth division Regionalliga Nord had come, he moved on January 12, 2018 back to the 2. Bundesliga and joined to the end of the season on loan to 1. FC Nuremberg , with whom he became runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2018 and thus rose to the Bundesliga . Stefaniak returned to VfL Wolfsburg for the 2018/19 season, but did not appear in the club's first or second team, but was used in four test matches.

For the 2019/20 season Stefaniak switched to second division SpVgg Greuther Fürth for two years on loan .

National team

In 2011 Stefaniak was nominated for two friendlies by the then U17 national coach Stefan Böger . He made his debut on November 12, 2011 in a 3-1 win against the U17 team of Azerbaijan . He was substituted on in the 65th minute. In the second game against this team he scored two goals in a 4-0 win.

On October 4, 2014 Stefaniak was nominated by Frank Wormuth again for a youth national team, the U20 , for a four-nation tournament. He made his debut on October 11, 2014 in a 1-0 win over Turkey's U20 team . In May 2015 he was appointed to the German squad for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand .
