The German soccer championship of the B-Juniors has been played since 1977. The best German B youth football team is determined every year. The players are usually between 15 and 17 years old. The current champions are 1. FC Köln ; The record champions are Borussia and VfB Stuttgart with seven championships each .
history
The championship was first played in 1977. In the first two events, only the champions from the five regional associations qualified . From 1979 on, the champions of the regional associations took part in the championship. The individual knockout rounds were played back and forth. From 1992 the champions of the new federal states took part. With the introduction of the regional league in 2000, the field of participants was reduced to eight teams. In 2008, the U-17 Bundesliga was introduced, which reduced the field of participants to four teams.
mode
The champions of the three seasons of the B-Junior Bundesliga qualify for the B-Junior Championship . Then there is the best runner-up. The best runner-up is determined using a performance table. Three points are awarded for the championship, two points for participation in the finals and one point for participation in the semi-finals. If a relay has two finalists in a season, only the points of the better team are counted. The three previous years are always decisive.
The championship is played in the knockout system . The semi-finals will be played with a return leg. If, at home and away a tie, the second leg is at 2 × 10 minutes extended . If still no decision has been made, a penalty shoot-out follows . The final is played in one game.

Remarkable
So far, two amateur clubs have won the B-Juniors championship. In 1979 Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin was successful , in 1988 Hertha Zehlendorf was successful. So far, only two clubs have been able to defend their titles from the previous season, VfB Stuttgart 1995 and Borussia Dortmund 2015.
