Ogün Temizkanoğlu (born October 6, 1969 in Hamm ) is a former Turkish football player and coach.

Player career

society

Temizkanoğlu began his career in the 1989/90 season at Trabzonspor . His greatest success there was winning the Turkish Cup in 1992 and 1995. At Trabzonspor he played a total of ten years and came to 246 games and 34 goals.

After ten years in Trabzon Temizkanoğlu left the club after the 1998/99 season and moved to the traditional club Fenerbahçe Istanbul . Years later, Temizkanoğlu explained about this move that he and his teammate Abdullah Ercan had been sold to Fenerbahçe and that they had not gone to Fenerbahçe of their own free will, as was assumed at the time. In the 2000/01 season he won his first Turkish championship with Fenerbahçe. From the 2000/01 season to the 2002/03 season , Ogün was the team's captain. At 33, Ogün belonged to the older generation before the 2003/04 season and the new coach Christoph Daum no longer planned with the experienced central defender, so Temizkanoğlu moved to Konyaspor .

For Konyaspor he only played one season and moved to Akçaabat Sebatspor . After engaging in a betting scandal, he was banned for one year in 2005. He himself drew the consequences and resigned as an active player.

National team

Temizkanoğlu started his national team career in 1990 with a commitment for the Turkish U-21 national team . A year later he took part with the Olympic selection of Turkey at the Mediterranean Games in Athens and won the silver medal. Ogün Temizkanoğlu made a total of 76 games for Turkey and scored 5 goals. He made his debut on May 27, 1990 in a friendly against Ireland , his last game for the Turkish selection was on April 17, 2002 against Chile . During his time as a national player Temizkanoğlu took part in the European Football Championship in 1996 and 2000 .

Coaching career

For a few years the former defender was quiet. In 2008 Ogün returned to coach the Turkish U-18 team. In November 2011 he took over the position of national coach of the Turkish national team for women .

On February 20, 2013, the fourth division team Gölcükspor took over and looked after them for about a month.

In March 2016 he was hired as the new head coach at the second division side Elazığspor and was responsible for him until November 2016. In March 2017 he took over the second division side Şanlıurfaspor and coached him for two months.
