history

Foundation of an association

The association was founded in 1923 in the district town of Akçaabat under the patronage of Mehmet Ağa under the name Sebat İdman Yurdu . In the following years the association merged repeatedly with other associations, but its name always remained local.

Participation in the 3rd Lig

The club first participated in Turkish professional football in the summer of 1970. Here, under the then name Sebat Gençlik SK, they were included in the third-highest division, the 3rd Lig , and played in the third division season 1970/71 . In the first season in the 3rd Lig they took 1st place in the table. In the following season 1971/72 they were second in the table and so just missed promotion to the 2nd Lig . After six years in the 3rd league, they reached the championship in the third division season 1977/78 and thus rose for the first time in the club's history to the second highest division, the 2nd league .
