Antti Markus Sumiala (born February 20, 1974 in Pori ) is a former Finnish football player on the position of a striker .
Career
Club career
Antti Sumiala played for many different clubs in Europe and for a short time in the USA. His professional career began in 1991 at FC Jazz Pori , which was then still called Porin Pallo-Toverit . In 1993 he left Pori and moved abroad for the first time to the Danish club Ikast FS . After stints in the Netherlands and a return to Finland, Sumiala competed in the season for the then second division promoted SSV Reutlingen 05 . Sumiala scored twice in 13 games and left Germany after the season. Finland, Turkey, Sweden and Liechtenstein were Sumiala's places of residence in the following years before he briefly moved to the North American Major League Soccer in 2005 . From January 2006 Sumiala plays again in Finland for the club Porin Palloilijat , where he ended his career as a professional footballer.
National team
In 1992 Sumiala completed his first international match for the Finnish national team . In total, he appeared in 38 games for Finland until 2004, scoring nine goals.
