Serdar Özkan (born January 1, 1987 in Düzce ) is a Turkish football player.

Athletic career

Club soccer

Serdar Özkan was signed to Beşiktaş by his own youth when he was 16. The discoverer of this player was the then coach Mircea Lucescu . Although he had no experience as a professional footballer, Lucescu took him to a training camp in Switzerland and nominated him for the matches of the UEFA Champions League . After Lucescu's departure from Beşiktaş, Serdar Özkan fell silent. In 2004/05 he was awarded to İstanbulspor , after which he went to Akçaabat Sebatspor for a year . In 2006/07 he returned to Beşiktaş on the field. Jean Tigana attached great importance to the young Beşiktaş Istanbul players and this was Serdar's opportunity to prove himself, but he went on loan to Samsunspor .

In the 2008/09 season Özkan was Turkish champion and cup winner with Beşiktaş. After his contract with Beşiktaş was not renewed at the end of the 2009/10 season, he then moved to city rivals Galatasaray Istanbul on a free transfer . There he only came to two league games and was released on January 12, 2011. He signed a 2.5-year contract with MKE Ankaragücü .

After Ankaragücü ran into major financial problems in the 2011/12 season, many players were released. Among the exempted was Özkan, who then went to league competitor Samsunspor . This club missed relegation at the end of the season, whereupon Özkan left the club. At the end of the summer transfer period, he moved to the second division Şanlıurfaspor .

A year he returned to the Süper Lig and hired at Sanica Boru Elazığspor . After this club missed relegation at the end of the 2013/14 season and had to relegate, Özkan moved to Sivasspor in the summer of 2014 . Towards the end of the pre-season preparatory camp, his contract was canceled by mutual agreement.

In mid-August 2014 he signed a two-year contract with the first division club Eskişehirspor . After one season he moved to the new first division team Antalyaspor . With this club he played in 30 of possible league games. After having played 19 appearances in his second season, he left the club in the summer of 2017 after mutual agreement with the club's management one year before the end of the contract. For the 2017/18 season he was hired by the first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankaraan . After that season he returned to Antalyaspor.
