Jewhen Olexandrowytsch Seleznjow ( Ukrainian Євген Олександрович Селезньов; Russian Евгений Александрович Селезнёв ; born July 20, 1985 in Makijiwka , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian football player .
Career
society
Yevhen Seleznyov comes from the Shakhtar Donetsk youth academy . There he got a contract in 2002, but was only used in the second (52/19) or even third (41/9) team over the years .
In the winter of 2007 he was awarded to Arsenal Kiev . In the second half of the 2006/07 season he scored two goals in twelve games, in the 2007/08 season in 24 games 17 goals and finished second with two other players in the top scorer list. After he returned from Kiev , Seleznyov extended his contract for another five years. On August 3, 2008, he played his third league game for Donetsk against Illichivets Mariupol and scored the 2-0 and thus his first goal ever for Shakhtar.
On June 25, 2009 he moved to league rivals Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk . He made his debut on the same day and scored his first goal for his new club against Metalist Kharkiv . After three matchdays he had scored three goals this season. During the season Selesnjow developed into a key player of the team and underlined this with 17 goals in the Premjer-Liha 2010/11 and was top scorer. On June 22, 2011, Dnipropetrovsk announced that Seleznyov would return to Shakhtar Donetsk. In 2015 Selesnjow reached the final of the Europa League in Warsaw with Dnipro after he had scored a goal in two games in the semifinals against SSC Napoli . In this game he was substituted on in the middle of the second half; Dnipro lost 3-2 to defending champions Sevilla FC .
On October 17, 2015, Seleznyov scored four goals in a row in the league game against Stal Dniprodzerzhynsk in a 6-0 win, three of them in the second half. It was his first hat trick in the Ukrainian Premjer-Liha. During the winter break he was loaned to FK Kuban Krasnodar . For the Russian club he made 9 games in the starting line-up and scored 3 goals.
For the second half of the 2018/19 season he was loaned to Málaga CF. At the end of the season he left Spain and returned to Turkey. Here he was hired by the second division club Bursaspor .
National team
On May 24, 2008, he completed his first A international match in a friendly against the Netherlands when he came on for Andrij Shevchenko in the 66th minute . In his third international match on November 19, 2008, he scored his first international goal against Norway with the 1-0 winning goal.
In the qualification for the European Football Championship 2016 in France, Selesnjow was initially not in the squad, only in the second half he was used three times and then played the two successful relegation games against Slovenia. Then he was included in the EM squad of Ukraine . In the opening game against Germany he was substituted on in the last third when the score was 0: 1. He played against Northern Ireland from the start and was then substituted in the 71st minute when the score was 0-1. In the third game against Poland he was not used. Then the tournament was eliminated.
