Mehmet Birinci (born July 8, 1957 in Trabzon ) is a Turkish football coach.
Career
The beginnings of Birinci's coaching career are insufficiently documented. His first documented activity was in the 1989/90 season for third division club Akçaabat Sebatspor . He then worked for other third division clubs in his hometown of Trabzon .
From October 1999 he began to work as assistant coach to Giray Bulak and assisted him at his stadium at Konyaspor , Trabzonspor , Antalyaspor and Elazığspor .
In October 2003 he took over Akçaabat Sebatspor for the third time in his career. He looked after the first division team at the time until the summer of 2004. He started the 2005 season at Giresunspor , but left the club after only two months. After this position he worked for a number of third division clubs before he took over Giresunspor again in 2007.
In November 2013 he took over the Giresunspor club, which this time was in crisis and financially troubled, for the third time. He helped this club to make a spectacular comeback. After Giresun had a 17 point deficit on top of the table Hatayspor when Birincis took office , this deficit gradually decreased. Finally, Birinci's team replaced Hatayspor as leaders on matchday 28. He defended this position with his team and ended the 2013/14 season as champion of the TFF 2nd Lig and rose to the TFF 1st Lig . At the end of October 2014, after mutual agreement with the club's management, he terminated his contract with Giresunspor and left this club.
