Hatayspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Antakya in Hatay Province . In addition to the football department, the club has other sports departments.

history

In 1967 the local notables of the city of Antakya met and demanded that a competitive football club be founded to promote the city . This demand was very popular and so the three clubs Kurtuluşspor , Esnafspor and Reyhanlı Gençlikspor merge to form today's Hatayspor. Bordeaux red, white and green were chosen as the club colors. Bordeaux red should symbolize the dignity , white the purity and green the locally native olive tree . The founding members were Razık Gazel, Orhan Aksuyu, Fatih Hocaoğlu and Hüsnü Hataylı.

In 1976 the club made it into the third highest division at the time. The most successful time he experienced in the years 2000 to 2002. Here they played in the second highest Turkish league, today's TFF 1. Lig . After four years in the TFF 3rd Lig, the team won the championship in the summer of 2012 and was promoted to the TFF 2nd Lig.
