Hélder Jorge Leal Rodrigues Barbosa (born May 25, 1987 in Paredes ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Barbosa learned to play football in the youth of FC Porto and made his debut in the Primeira Liga on the last day of the 2005/06 season when he played the second half of the game against Boavista Porto for the already established champions and was sent off in the last minute of the game received. From 2006 to 2008 Barbosa played on loan for Académica de Coimbra before returning to Porto in January 2008 to replace Tarik Sektioui , who was participating in the Africa Championship . For the 2008/09 season he moved again on loan to the first division CD Trofense , but could not prevent his immediate relegation as a regular player. After another loan deal with Vitória Setúbal , Barbosa signed a three-year contract with Sporting Braga in the summer of 2010 .

In the summer of 2017, he and his teammate Serginho moved to the Turkish first division club Akhisar Belediyespor . Here he was an important part of the team that achieved the most important successes in the club's history by winning the Turkish Cup in 2017/18 , the Turkish Supercup in 2018 and taking part in the Cup finals in 2018/19 .

For the 2019/20 season he moved to the Turkish second division club Hatayspor , with whom he was promoted to the Süper Lig at the end of the season .

In the national team

Barbosa went through the youth national teams of his country. On November 14, 2012, he made his debut for the senior team in a friendly against Gabon .
