Kubilay Sönmez (born June 17, 1994 in Kamen ) is a German - Turkish soccer player .

Player career

In the club

Sönmez went through the youth departments of SG Wattenscheid 09 , Rot-Weiss Essen and FC Schalke 04 before he moved to the Turkish TFF 2nd Lig in the summer of 2013 to the western Turkish representative Dardanelspor . Here he completed 14 league games in his first season and rose to the end of the season with his club in the TFF 3rd Lig .

After the relegation of Dardanelspor, Sönmez was signed by the second division club Şanlıurfaspor for the 2014/15 season . There he played for the next two years.

For the 2016/17 season he was signed by the first division club Kayserispor . After a season he left this club towards second division side Büyükşehir Belediye Erzurumspor . Again just six months later, Sönmez moved on to Adana Demirspor in January 2018 .

National team

Sönmez started playing for the Turkish U-20 national team from October 2014 . In 2014 he also made his debut for the Turkish U-21s .
