Gökhan Zan (born September 7, 1981 in Antakya ) is a former Turkish football player .

Club career

He played in central defense and was due to his stature as a very robust defender who was able to distinguish himself on his position due to his positional play. Through convincing performances he had become part of the Turkish national soccer team . Before moving to Beşiktaş, he played for Çanakkale Dardanelspor , where he first came into view of the larger Turkish clubs. Since he was not able to assert himself in the central defense at his new club right away, he was loaned to Gaziantepspor . There he was able to convince again and came back to Beşiktaş as an experienced player. Since then, he has been a regular player in central defense.

For the 2009/2010 season he moved to local rivals Galatasaray Istanbul , for whom he made his debut on July 16, 2009 under coach Frank Rijkaard in the game against Tobol Kostanay . This season he came on 16 more missions for Galatasaray. In the 2010/11 season he was on the pitch 17 times and scored one goal.

National team

Gökhan Zan has been a Turkish international since 2006 . He was part of the squad of the Turkish team at the 2008 European Championship , where he was used 3 times.
