Status: end of career

Volkan Glatt (born March 3, 1982 in Heidelberg ) is a former German - Turkish soccer player who began his career at MSV Duisburg and then played in Turkey for many years. From 2011 he was under contract with various amateur clubs in Germany.

Career

society

Glatt began playing football at FC Victoria Bammental near Heidelberg and then played in the youth team at Karlsruher SC and at SV Waldhof Mannheim before he was accepted into the second team at MSV Duisburg in 2000 . With this, the striker entered the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein and was able to establish himself as a regular player. During the 2001/02 season he was able to draw attention to himself with 13 goals, which brought him into the focus of the professional team. On April 28, 2002 he reached his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga in a 1: 4 defeat against Hannover 96 , where he was called up over 90 minutes. At the same time, this was his only use in German professional football.

In the summer of 2002 he left Duisburg and accepted a contract offer from the Turkish first division club Galatasaray Istanbul . At Galatasaray, however, he was not a member of the first team and was awarded at the beginning of the 2003/04 season to the first division promoted Çaykur Rizespor . In this he was able to complete two matches in the top division of the country, but did not establish himself beyond that and was given in the winter break of 2003/04 to the second division Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor . There he subsequently came to regular considerations. During the 2005/06 season, however, he hardly played a role and was therefore awarded to league rivals Akçaabat Sebatspor . After a final year at Istanbul BB, he went to Kartalspor in 2007, who had been promoted to the second division . With this he was often on the field, but already in the season 2008/09 the next change followed with his contract with Adanaspor . Glatt couldn't prevail there and then wore the jersey of third division club İskenderun Demir Çelikspor , with whom he was under contract until 2011. In total, he had two top division games in Turkey without scoring his own as well as 111 second division games with 18 goals.

In 2011 he returned to his home region in southwest Germany and joined the traditional club VfR Mannheim . With this he played in the major league before he entered the lower class amateur football in the summer of 2012 with his move to the national division Olympia Kirrlach . After a stopover at SC Walldorf , he was brought back from his youth club FC Victoria Bammental in December 2013. With 47 goals in the 2014/15 season, he was the top scorer in the Heidelberg District League by a clear margin and also led his team to the championship. In December 2015 he took over the position of head coach at FC Victoria Bammental and has since acted as player-coach together with Alexander Welz.

National team

The player, who in principle could also have played for Germany, opted for a career in the youth teams of Turkey in the junior division. On April 2, 1998 he was in a 3-0 win over Azerbaijan for the first time for the U-15 team on the field. In the following time he was regularly considered in different age groups, most recently in the U-18. For the Turkish U-20 team he was able to play another assignment in May 2001, which also remained his last in the national jersey. In total, he had played in over 30 junior internationals by then, but he was denied the leap into the senior national team.
