After a year at Giresunspor , he took over the third division Gümüşhane Doğanspor in the summer of 1996 . With this club he finished the third division season 1997/98 as a champion and rose to the 2nd league . After this success he agreed for the coming season, but left the club in the first few weeks of the new season. In November 1998 he was introduced as head coach at Bulancakspor and coached this club for one season. He then took over Akçaabat Sebatspor for the 1999/00 season . With this club he achieved in the third division season 1999/2000 the runner-up and thus promotion to the 2nd league . After this success he could not find an agreement with his club for a cooperation, so he left the club for the second division Siirt Jetpaspor . He separated from this club during his first season.

In the following years he coached a large number of second and third division teams. I.a. he worked in the 2003/04 season for first division club Akçaabat Sebatspor , but left this club after nine matchdays. In February 2006 he took over Sebatspor a third time and looked after the club until the third match day of the 2006/07 season. He then took over the second division Altay Izmir in November 2006 . He led this club into the final of the playoffs of the TFF 1st Lig . In the final they lost 3: 4 on penalties to Kasımpaşa Istanbul . He left Altay after the 2nd match day of the 2007/08 season and then trained in series after Mardinspor , Adanaspor , Orduspor , Şanlıurfaspor , Akçaabat Sebatspor and Altay Izmir.

In the summer of 2013 he was introduced as the head coach of the second division Adanaspor and thus looked after this club for the second time. After Adanaspor suffered a bitter home defeat under Al on the first season of the 2013/14 season against Orduspor 4-0 at home, Al announced his resignation.
